New City. New Adventures

A trip to the Imperial War museum. It was rad...

An audacious art experiment

Coming up this Saturday, with photographs from myself and Joe Singleton:

Ten bands, "The Royal House of Choke" film screening, booze and food.
£5 for a jam-packed, cracking good day.

I would link all the bands and the film, but I'm doing this on my phone which is a bit frustrating, so will update once I get to a computer.

[ED] Venue has been released: C.A.D.S. at Snow Lane, Snow Lane, Sheffield, S3 7AL.

Tomorrow. Tomorrow. Tomorrow!

Endings

Finally finished editing the images from my final shoot for this project. Now I have the long task of printing all the images and framing them for next Saturday. It has become even more meaningful doing this project on Sheffield, as after five years here I am moving on. I have accepted a job in Manchester, starting on Monday. So, here are some of the last photographs I will shoot in Sheffield...

Beautiful People

Darren Topliss, Luke Twyman and Joe Singleton...

Manor Top

Some new work from around Manor Top. Proof that at times I need to over-ride the element of my subconscious that says 'ooh sun, best get out taking photos!', as the lighting was pretty hard to work with. I have included some shots of the same/similar subjects, as I have to choose which are best for an upcoming exhibition (details coming soon), so comments are welcome. Oh, I decided to sneak in this shot of a lovely old lady too, though it's not from the same shoot...

Work, Work, Work

I recently decided to do a little project at work, seeing many good photo opportunities since I started there (I work in a kitchen). Here's the first batch of photos. They're a little sketchy, but I like that fact as it represents the process of taking images there - using an imperfect camera because it fits in my pocket and has a flash, trying to take photos whilst working and trying to keep in my managers' good books. Again, colour casts everywhere, but I'm hoping I can blame this on my colour blindness and gloss over it. I was hoping to get many more photos of other staff members, but will have to wait until they get used to it and stop either playing up for the camera or running away...

Mmm Provia

If the last post left me regretting shooting in colour, this one leaves me wanting to shoot it more. It's just a shame they don't look as punchy as they did before uploading...

Crystal Peaks: Full of Absolutely Nothing

This place is right next to my work, and on my recent outing (see previous post) I shot a fair few images there. I spent about two hours there, allowing me to walk around it about 15 times, which was great fun. The colour casts were awful, so it was only a matter of time before I gave up, hopefully it isn't too noticeable....

Some old Pinholes

Recently got some films developed that have been sat around a while, the first of which was from my pinhole. I can't remember when or where they were shot...
